Life changes a lot since I stepped into new environment—Form 4, or rather since I joined Young Enterprise (Y.E). It is very new and just established and appointed as legal curricular society by school. One of the teacher-in-charged is Puan Aliza Kadir, my form 1 & 2 English tea her! I started to know the existence of Y.E through Hobart Lim (A debater+academic attainer). He was not persuading me to join, initially. In fact, he was introducing all the activities and contents to Seumas Teh (Athlete-hurdles), embracing a hope that Seumas will join his troop! I was beside Seumas and listened to what he conveyed to Seumas. That moment, I found out that my skills quite suit with this association! Then, I started to bambard some relevent questions to Hobert in order to know better about it! Impressive! He had indeed answered all the questions and my thoughts are now clearer! So, I registered my name in Young Enterprise!
Everything running just fine, until, teachers and SEAGATE (Our sponsor) started to complain about our perfomance and doubt over our commitments. Yes, I do agree with them! Our members are lacking motivation, to be more precise, lack of self-motivation. During meeting, most of the members do not attend, even if they got attend, they refuse to express anything. Me, myself conceived many ideas, but I am too afraid to talk in front of them, with ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!! Now this is a big problem! Communication problem is my stumbling rock since primary. Reason is simple, I don’t usually converse in English! When I stand up at speak ten words of it, I have to spend 45 seconds, equivalent to running for about 300m. DAMN SLOW… and not fluent too. Many gramatical errors and wrong enunciation while giving a speech! Remorse of throwing all the phonetic symbols which given by Madam Ang last year! Now, she will leave Penang head for SABAH to become lecturer in one of the University over there. Congratulation, teacher! Back to the topic………… So since I do not how to convey my ideas appropriately, I have to work HARD to earn my placing over there! I tell my problem facing now to Pn. Aliza, she gave as same as Mdm Ang’s advice, "Must confident in speaking(Aliza)" "Why children could learn a language so fast? Because they were not shy, and will not feel ashamed when spoken wrongly(Madam Ang)" I learn a precious lesson! Last week I present my ideas and prototaips in front of teachers, Advisors and PRINCIPAL! I am so nervous, and just try to fit in any suitable words. I proposed making a double-year calender, file, holder and HOROSCOPE. They were all accepted! So jovial! Feel great when ur efforts are seen and supported! Although in the middle of meeting, have people give remarks, I accepted them with grace. This is the quality should an enterpriser possess. Talking about that double-year calender, now this is the most interesting part among all my ideas. With a simple mathematical theory, I had successfully lcombined two consecutive years into 1 calender! What a relief…it proven burning midnight oil was worth anyway! I must thank to my mom, who so concern about my study and Y.E. She scares that the Y.E projects could baffle me from not revising my homework, so she came out with some ideas and help me through too(FILE). MOM, THX!
I know this is just the beginning. I will endeavour to make more prototaips, more products, more creative, more lucrative, more commercial values!!!!! And it would be burdensome for me. But I am willing to take the consequences.
Running on the tracks, fields, or roads is already associated in my life for some times. Even though I run for so many years, I never had my oppurtunity to represent my beloved Penang before. Last year, I was selected to represent Penang for 800m (L2), but I rejected as I am afraid I could not overcome the homeworks + exams + PMR. A bit remorse too… This year, once again I am eligible to play for my state for 400m (L1) event. Chance never knock for twice! I accepted and was allocated to train at Westland(PKSW). Everyone at here is an expert athlete. I am nervous. This year, I met an athlete from Penang Free School, Priyan Kumaren. His humility lead him to the peak of his own achievement. Ya! He is the champion for 400m (L1), time is 53.3 s, followed by me, time is 53.6 s. He deserved it! We admit, we are not a professional runners. Making the time which out of our expectations proven that self-belief would engender a MIRACLE. Well…I hope that I could improve better in fututre, together with him! Training will be extended in order to achieve the goal of ours, aspirations of Penang! So, training is held daily, from 4p.m ~ 6p.m! Quite a tiring process as I just come back from school and thewn rest for less than 1 hour interval, then I have to go for training already! It will going to happen for the following weeks. Next week, we are going to stay in at Westland hostel and are bounded to the rules of it! These past few weeks, I am compelled to undergo training at school and at PKSW(Westland base). I am not physically tired, but is my mental, it is getting weaker and weaker! Getting pale when didnt do any preparation for my mid year examination. Fortunately, the coaches inform us to bring books to study at Westland school, which in turn means that we are not trained every hour! Ha!
As you know, I am not going to school for the following two weeks, many lessons which are very significant to me will be missed too! I wonder how will I going to manage my study when there is only a cell-sized time for revision! God Bless me! Amitabha! I hope I could manage both study and sports equally good! Nothing is going to a hamper for both of it!
Conclusion: BUSY YEAR for Me!
