But...U may think...WHY AIESEC?! >.<" >>>>>?????<<<<<<<
AIESEC provides the platform the activate the leadership in you. Owing to its popularity and wide spread throughout the globe, you can enhance your life experience by becoming part of AIESEC family.
Some ppl like to ask WHAT IS THE CRITERIA to be an AIESEC-er or TO JOIN THIS INTERNSHIP prog(of coz my main focus here is ISSUE BASED INTERNSHIP)
My answer? I would say it's the MINDSET that matters da most. We are Malaysian, of coz, to certain extent, we may be pride of being a Malaysian for several reasons. Yet, be not ignorant to the world's issues that are happening around us. For example, the issue of food security is often associated with Singapore, a country which has limited land for crops. Poverty, famine, women discrimination, child abuse, environmental issues are a few scenarios the world is facing. So, what do you think you can contribute to the world, to restore the happiness of sicked children, to change the view of the world towards women's role, to save the environment from harm? What I want to point out is that AIESEC is instilling you the GLOBAL MINDSET.
Which country can I go?
This is easy, any country you prefered. You're given three choices of country, and you will be informed of which country u are getting, provided that the country you chosen HAS THE OPPORTUNITY(or in other word, the PROJECT) that you want.
What Project does AIESEC offer?
We provide 2 types of internship: 1. Issue based internship(DOES NOT RELATED TO ACADEMICS, we dont look at your CGPA) 2. Professional based internship
Owing to the fact that WE HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION, so we can't go for the latter choice, which is Professional based internship. So I will narrow down the scope to Issue based Internship only. Issue based internship has 5 packages: 1. Social development 2. Cultural Understanding 3. Environmental Sustainability 4. Education 5. HIV/AIDS
Which one you are interested? Haha =)
How much do I need to pay?
Processing fee: RM400
Interview: RM 50 (if you fail and want to retake, u nid to pay again)
Accommodation and Food are covered by the NGO/TN(Company that sponsor you)
---->Flight ticket is at your own expenses
---->Some ppl may wanna visit interesting places, buy souvenirs, eat extra food(trying out country's food specialty)...SO all these are at your own budget too.
WAIT!!!! GOOD NEWS, YOU CAN APPLY ISX to relieve your FINANCIAL BURDEN. It may cover ur living expenses up to 60 - 70%. Worth TRYING, but not necessary will get =)
So...if u choose Asia country, flight ticket would be cheaper, this is my advice. Or you book early.
What do I do in that Country?
Depends on the NGO/TN Company's request. Basically, you are WORKING TOGETHER with OTHER ppl of different nationalities to organize activities/events/learning session/workshop for the targeted group of youth(from elementary sch boys and girls to secondary sch teenagers)
Making presentations or speaking in front of a group of ppl is something which I think is inevitable. So, dare to speak out if you are not dare. This is an opportunity to speak and shine =)
What is the Medium of instruction?
ENGLISH
Can I go with my friend to the same COUNTRY?
YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring ur BF, GF, COUSINs, NEPHEWs or watever, as long they are below 30 years old =)
